BREMBO BRAKE DISCS SUPERSPORT

During braking, the disc dissipates the kinetic energy of the bike, through the heat produced by the friction between the pads and the disc itself.

The latter is then stressed by a thermomechanical action to which the disk must resist without permanently deforming.

Each disk has its own inertia (tendency of a body not to change its state of motion) dependent on weight and external diameter, which, in practice, affects the speed in changes of direction. The design of a disk can not therefore ignore the above and will be much better as it will be able to be light and at the same time resistant.

DISC SUPERSPORT

5.5 mm thick SUPERSPORT discs. They are interchangeable with the originals and suitable to work with both the series calipers and the BREMBO Racing. They are completely floating discs composed of the thermo-treated martensitic steel band (able to withstand any thermo mechanical stress) and the aluminum alloy bell made from solid. The coupling between the two components takes place by means of 10 entrainment pawls. These discs, in combination with Brembo Z04 pads, have won the 2009 SuperSport World Championship.

SuperSport

Developed with the precise goal of offering all owners of the most popular European and Japanese hypersports models maximum performance both on the road and on the track. The discs of the Supersport range are available with a larger than standard thickness of 5.5 mm. These are fully floating discs consisting of a rotor in tempered martensitic steel (capable of resisting extreme thermo-mechanical stress) and a hat machined from billet aluminium alloy.

The two parts are joined together by 10 fastener studs in true racing style. The distinctive characteristic of a floating disc is that the rotor is not fixed to the aluminium hat - in other words, it is free to move on the studs. This configuration significantly reduces disc stress, reducing disc wear and improving heat dissipation, while also allowing the rotor the freedom to deform.

Supersport discs are available with a rotor measuring 34 mm in width and 5.5 mm in thickness, and are fully interchangeable with the original components without any modifications.
